Despite rumours of his pending release, it seems freedom is still out of reach for rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye

Even for celebrities, early release from prison is by no means guaranteed. And the parole hopes of former hip-hop star and convicted killer Molemo “Jub Jub”  Maarohanye have apparently been dashed for the moment.

Authorities have quashed reports that Jub Jub was set to be released as early as March this year. They say he will remain behind bars until he serves enough of his sentence to qualify for parole consideration and apologizes to the victims or their parents.

“There’s no truth to reports that Jub Jub will be released soon,” says Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo. “The fact is Mr Maarohanye has not yet been considered for parole.”
