Media personality Pearl Thusi, who is making Mzansi proud raising the flag high playing Dayana Mampasi in ABC network series Quantico in New York, says as much as she enjoys what she does, sometimes people in entertainment can be brutal.

Pearl explains that due to desperation some people will stop at nothing, including hurting others to get ahead. "It can be very hectic," Pearl explains to Cosmopolitan in their August issue.

"You can be offered a job, and someone else will offer to do your job and get paid less than what you were going to get paid together, just so they can shine. It's been done to me," the star explains.

She adds that as she is someone who believes in Karma, she doesn't do such things. "I have huge respect for karma, so I'm really not keen to use those tactics."

Pearl is currently in New York recording her scenes for Quantico.

Pearl will play Dayana Mampasi, a driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer. After graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in. She joins series stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Blair Underwood, and Russell Tovey.

“I have been such a big fan of the show for such a long time and it is a dream come true to be a part of it. I am proud to be paving the way for South Africa and am absolutely thrilled to be joining the extraordinarily talented Quantico team," said Pearl.
