Rising star Nomsa Buthelezi has emerged as the new face of the PEP store campaign.

Rising star Nomsa Buthelezi has emerged as the new face of the PEP store campaign, much to the surprise of many viewers who had grown used to former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba being the brand's ambassador.

Her popular character, Queen Moroka, was known to wear PEP clothing on the soapie as well.

"Let me explain to you, PEP has many concepts and manu companies do not prefer to use the same face to advertise various brands. It depends on what they want and what they want to achieve, and who is the target," Sophie told the Sowetan newspaper when approached for comment on her alleged booting.

Nomsa Buthelezi has expressed great excitement for what this branding opportunity would do for her career: "I am happy for getting this opportunity. I just shot a video in Cape Town and will do radio and television commercials."

The actress has signed a one year contract with the store.

We hope this won't mean the end of Ms Ndaba's ad campaigns with the brand.
