“Please don’t show your boobs that have silver stripes." -Skhumba

Comedian Skhumbuzo ‘Skhumba’ Hlophe has come under fire for mocking topless protestors.

Skhumba recently posted a video joking about the Wits University students who protested topless pleading with the police to cease-fire.

In the video, Skhumba mocks the students on the shape of their breasts saying they were too droopy to be exposed publicly.

“Please don’t show your boobs that have silver stripes. When a boob shows, it should like a tennis ball, not like wet sneakers without shoe laces,” he said in isiZulu.

Some labelled Skhumba as 'body shaming’ and being insensitive about the seriousness of the #FeesMustFall protests. Koketso Moeti created an online petition to have Skhumba taken off air from his Kaya FM feature on the 180 with Bob show that he is featured on Fridays until he apologises for body shaming the students.
