Pitso and SAFA reach settlement

Pitso Mosimane and the South African Football Association (SAFA) have reached a settlement over the former Bafana Bafana coach’s claims of wrongful dismissal.

Mosimane demanded R10million from SAFA from wrongful dismissal, more than double the R5million that was being offered.

But according to Kick-Off, after meeting in court this morning, a settlement has now been reached, though the amount agreed upon remains confidential.

Mosimane’s lawyer Rod Harper says the two parties have now reached a confidential agreement on the matter.

“The parties met on Thursday and Friday last week, negotiated the resolution of the dispute, and have entered into an agreement which has been signed by the parties. It’s a secret agreement, and unfortunately I can’t comment any further on its contents.”

Harper has added that the contract means that Mosimane will not be pursing any further action against the association.

“The agreement fully resolves the litigation which he instituted against SAFA.”
