Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's state visit to the Union Buildings today has been received with mixed reactions.

A lot of noise has surrounded Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's state visit to South Africa, it has been 21 years since he has been in the country on a state visit.

There have been mixed reactions to the leader's presence within South African borders.

Photobombs have been captured and preparations at the Union Buildings in Pretoria are underway but others, like eNCA's political commentator Justice Malala are far from pleased.

As a way of welcoming the ZANU-PF leader, the national ceremonial guard gave the Zimbabwean head of state a salute and 21 gun-shots were fired in honour of his visit. SABC 2 has even changed their programming in order to accommodate a media advisory that begun at 12:00 and will end at 13:00 this afternoon.
