Mandela, died at 08.50pm on Thursday, 5 December, at his home in Houghton in Joburg.

He was 95.

He will be buried Sunday in Qunu, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate's rural hometown in Eastern Cape Province.

Tens of thousands of mourners, are expected to attend the state funeral on December 15.

Meanwhile, at the Nelson Mandela Museum in Qunu, people continued to write messages of support on a white banner hung on a wall outside and left flowers against the wall.

A flame of hope was lit at the museum on Saturday. It was described as resembling the shining light that Madiba represented to the world.

Government Minister Collins Chabane told journalists Monday that officials "can't guess" how many people will attend or will try to enter the stadium.

"Once we see that the numbers are becoming unmanageable ... access will be denied," Chabane said.
