President Jacob Zuma's visit to Tanzania

01 June 2015

President Jacob Zuma was in Tanzania for an Emergency East African Community (EAC) to discuss the situation in Burundi.

While Police Minister Nathi Nhleko had to read a 50-page report about Nkandla, President Jacob Zuma was in Tanzania for an Emergency East African Community (EAC) to discuss the situation in Burundi.

President Zuma was accompanied by Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.

South Africa's presence in the proceedings was seen as important because the country's hand in peace negotiations once helped bring peace to Burundi  a few years ago.

Zuma returned to Pretoria on Monday morning.
