Quench their thirst the healthy way

Fresh fruit smoothies are a great way to make sure your children get enough fruit in their diet and they’re fun to make together. Use a selection of your favourite fruit or try this delicious recipe.

  • ½ banana, chopped
  • 250 ml (1 c) fresh fruit salad (peach, apple, berries, orange)
  • 250 ml (1 c) low-fat vanilla yoghurt
  • 180 ml (¾ c) chilled low-fat milk
  • 5 ml (1 t) honey

Blitz the ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth and pour into a suitable bottle or flask. Keep refrigerated until needed.

Shake the smoothie before drinking.

Serves 2

Tip: Freeze any extra smoothie mixture in small plastic cups and insert wooden paddle sticks. This makes lovely healthy iced lollies for summer.
