Qunu back to its 'normality'

An air of calm and “normality” is slowly returning to Qunu.

An air of calm and “normality” is slowly returning to the rolling green hills of Qunu in the Eastern Cape where former president Nelson Mandela was born and later burial on Sunday.

Now, construction workers are busy dismantling the white dome that hosted the Mandela’s funeral.

The specially constructed dome hosted 4,500 guests that included the Mandela family, Britain’s Prince Charles, Malawian President Joyce Banda, Lesotho's King Letsie III, and current and former statesmen from Ethiopia, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Zambia.

Road restrictions near Mandela’s farm have been lifted on the N2 Freeway linking Qunu and Mthatha.

A large contingent of the army has not vacated the area.
