"It is such a sad situation that shows how unsafe our country has become," she said.

Rebecca shared her concern over crime in the country saying its rise is taking away too many lives.

"People are afraid because these days you now get killed in your own house. When I go home to Nelspruit I stay indoors most times because I don't want people to see me and think, 'there is money in the house' because of the house," she added.

The songbird says  if it was up to her, to curb crime she would put stiffer punishments. "If criminals' hands were cut off if they stole or if we brought back the death penalty then crime would decrease," she said.

On the drama that is surrounding Senzo's death, Rebecca said the only thing she is doing is keeping the late players loved ones in her prayers. "My family and I are praying for Senzo's loved ones that God would comfort then in this extremely trying time."

Rebecca will travel to KZN on Friday to attend Senzo's funeral.
