It seems like Mzansi's media darling Bonang Matheba may have spoken prematurely about joining the likes of  Halle Barry as the global ambassador for cosmetics brand, Revlon.

"Proud to announce... I'm now a Revlon GLOBAL brand ambassador.... My new Colourstay campaign was shot in New York and will launch on April 2nd 2016.... Look out for it!! From Africa to the WORLD!!" Bonang captioned her now removed Instagram post.

Reports have now surfaced to suggest that the cosmetics giant had no plans to make Bonang their  global ambassador. Revlon's spokesperson for South Africa Michelle Stevens vehemently denied that Bonang had been signed to represent the company internationally. "There were no plans to make Bonang an international brand ambassador, she will remain the face of Revlon South Africa," Timeslive reported.

However, Pumza Nohashe, Bonang's PR Manager stated that “Ms Matheba has enjoyed a great three year relationship with Revlon SA and was very honoured when the brand came back to renew their partnership, specifically, as per the agreement extending her territory of endorsement, an official announcement to follow in due course."

Meanwhile, Queen B has removed her social media posts in which she shared the news of her becoming the international face of Revlon. Fans had something to say on Twitter:
