US rapper Rick Ross has been confirmed as the headline artist at this year’s Youth Hip Hop Festival with over 20 local artists. The announcement  was made yesterday by Richie R Concepts at a press conference in Durban.

It's not the rapper's first time in the country,  he has previously performed in Cape Town and Nelspruit in 2010 and 2013.

The annual festival, which is in its second year, will take place at the Moses Mabhida stadium on the 2nd of May.

The festival also has government backing with clear messaging throughout the concert and all activation leading up to show day.

The messaging ‘I DO RIGHT’ was created to encourage young people to always do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

Using music as the tool to get youth informed about their rights to build stronger leaders is a huge focus  by the government.

Tickets will go on sale early February at Computicket.
