SABC weather presenter Andile Masuku’s joy of being a new mom again was sadly short-lived. DRUM has learnt that she lost her three-month old baby boy earlier in the week. The baby was laid to rest today by a few friends and family.

Grieving Andile could not comment on the matter as she was still shaken after the funeral. “It’s still fresh therefore I can’t comment at this stage,” she politely told DRUM. She did not reveal the cause of the infant’s death either.

DRUM broke news of her pregnancy in early February when she revealed that though her first born daughter was only eight months old at the time, she is excited to be carrying another bundle of joy. The pregnancy was not planned but she was elated, “It was a surprise but a pleasant one because I’m not getting any younger,” she said.

She also said that that she’d had an easy pregnancy with minimal complications.

He first daughter, Katekani is fathered by suspended ANC youth league spokesperson Floyd Shivambu who was involved in a public row with Andile after he denied fathering the second child with her or ever dating her.

Regardless Floyd’s family seemed to be supportive throughout Andile’s second pregnancy as his mother had bought the newborn clothes and kept contact with the new mother.

It is still unclear if the deceased child’s paternity issues had been resolved but one thing is certain, this is a pain that no mother should experience.
