For years her name was uttered with awe and respect.  She was one of the finest and most popular actresses in the country, instantly recognisable as Ntombi on Generations.

And then, slowly but surely, Sonia Sedibe’s life began to unravel: she left the soap, endured a bitter divorce (Trouble in paradise, 31 October 2013), allegedly assaulted her helper (‘She slapped me...’ 30 January 2014), and suffered a mild stroke. Then to top it all, her much-talked-about business ventures crumbled.
