With so many young talented South Africans coming up strong in the music game, the oldies might need to catch up.

One new kid on the block on the rise is Soweto born Lerato Sellane also known as ELO. Entering the music scene with vigor, this Soweto-born singer first found her voice at a church choir and went on to becoming back-up singer for Vusi Nova.

After facing some challenges and working behind the scenes, ELO received mentorship from singer Nothende.

With the recent launch of her promising EP entitled ELOGRAM, things are looking up.

ELO describes her music as “melancholic, R&B influenced with a touch of electro” and is highly influenced by local star Thandiswa Mazwai and British singer FKA Twigs.

ELO’s first music video, directed by the award winning director of Skeem Sam and Isibaya, Tebogo Malope shows a pink fantasy world built for the songstress with the pink afro.

ELO will be touring Swaziland, Maputo and Durbanin, Spain ending in New York City in October 2016.
