Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, was involved in a car crash this week.

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, was involved in a car crash this week.

It is believed the soccer star was on his way back from a friend’s house in his hometown, Umlazi Township in Durban, when the crash happened.

A witness said the soccer star was a passenger and his brother was on the wheel.

Meyiwa’s brother, Sifiso was driving his Golf 5 when the accident happened.

“The tow truck was supposed to stop on the T junction but it didn’t. Meyiwa’s car was going to turn but the truck wiped it out at Simelane Drive off ramp. The Quantum minibus which was also going up was also hit by the truck,” he said.

When contacted about the incident, the soccer star said he was at church and could not comment.

The driver of the Quatum, Mlungisi Mfaba confirmed the incident saying Meyiwa’s red Golf was also damaged.

“We are just happy that we were not injured. It wasn’t Meyiwa’s fault but the tow truck,” he said.

Cops said there is no case opened since no one was injured.
