Nelson Mandela had drafted a sequel book to Long Walk to Freedom.

The draft is titled The Presidential Years and dated October 16, 1998.

Reuters reports the Nelson Mandela Foundation archives have shared some quotes from the book

In a passage Mandela describes his awkwardness at being put on a pedestal by his countrymen and millions more around the globe.

“One issue that deeply worried me in prison was the false image that I unwittingly projected to the outside world; of being regarded as a saint. I never was one even on the basis of an earthly definition of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying.”

The draft also include notes where Mandela talks about former revolutionaries succumbing to greed.

Former colleagues have been requested to complete the sequel.

They are Ramaphosa, former Foundation chief executive John Samuels, Zuma's current spokesman Mac Maharaj, former ANC heavyweight Joel Netshitenzhe and Jacob Zuma himself. It makes no mention of Mandela's immediate successor, Thabo Mbeki.
