ONE winner stands a chance to win R1000

Famously known for lending her vocals to DJ Ganyani’s hit single Talk to Me, Layla (real name Nthabiseng Moamohe) has released her debut album, titled Dear Andrew.

The album is a mixture of house and pop with some live instrumentation. The title is inspired by her late father, Andrew, and she dedicated her first project to him saying, “He supported me on this dream and I wanted to make him part of my journey.”

Music lovers can look forward to lyrical content that references real life in every one of the songs.

Nine years after leaving her home of Pinetown in Kwazulu-Natal, Layla has finally reached her goal of a music career, and plans to ride the wave of this success with the release of her first single, Rise Again.

Speaking about the journey of making the album, Layla explains, “It was challenging and demanded a lot of my focus and energy but I’m just happy my vision has finally been realised. All I’ve ever wanted to do is to express myself through my great love of music.”

Layla has risen above her challenges in the music industry by not giving up on her dream, and now she sees the release of her album go from dream to reality.
