Sindi Nene's Truimph

She may have lost out on the Idols title but that hasn’t stopped Sindi Nene from conquering the music world

When she appeared on M-Net’s Idols she made a massive impression. Sindi Nene (24) was tipped for glory after she made it to the top three in the 2010 season of the talent contest.

But it wasn’t to be for the tiny musician with the big voice, who was at the time compared to late pop legend Brenda Fassie.

Sindi, bless her and her gorgeous alto voice, was a good sport about her defeat and took it in her stride.

“When I was eliminated I didn’t cry,” she says. “Being in the top three, for me, was more than what I’d hoped for when I entered the competition. I was definitely fired up after all that Idols experience.”

A lot has happened since then. She’s landed a contract with a major recording label, wrote practically her entire first

album, played bass on the bulk of the tunes, then went on to release one of the most acclaimed debut solo albums of

2011.

The CD has gained considerable airplay from adult contemporary radio stations such as Kaya FM and Radio 2000.
