Smoked pork pasta

Banish the cold with this warm, comforting meal

1 kg smoked pork hock

3 garlic cloves, crushed

1 onion, halved

1 litre chicken stock

300 g whole wheat spaghetti

handful green beans, chopped

handful spinach, chopped

100 g peas

  1. Add the pork, garlic, onion and stock to a pot over medium heat. Bring to the boil and reduce the heat to let it simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the pork and shred. Return to the pot, add the pasta and beans and simmer for eight minutes or until pasta is almost done. Add the spinach and peas and cook until spinach is wilted. Serve immediately.
