Mnguni was arrested outside his End Times Disciples Ministries church in Soshanguve at 14:00.

End Times Disciples Ministries church's, Penuel Mnguni (24), who fed his congregation live snakes has been arrested, reports Pretoria North Record.

It has also surfaced that the pastor has been released on R1000 bail.

Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Rheineth Motlana confirmed to the publication that

“Police returned several times to the church to try and find him. When they returned for the third time they found him outside and arrested him.”

According to the paper, the arrest followed after the Tshwane SPCA opened a case of animal cruelty against Mnguni.

Mnguni fed his congregation live snakes, telling them they would turn into Chomp chocolates.

SPCA inspector Mishack Matlou criticised the pastor’s actions.

“This pastor says he wants to show the power of God by using snakes and we as the SPCA are against this. We have asked pastors to help raise awareness against animal cruelty and pastor Penuel is doing the opposite,” he told Record.
