AgangSA leader Mamphela Ramphele has denied reports that sponsors were behind her party's marriage with the Democratic Alliance (DA).

“Our sponsors don't want a marriage, what they want is to see Agang being able to play its role of bringing none-voters into the voting pool.”

Her response follows reports that sponsors offered to release money if her party forms a partnership with the DA.

The marriage lasted for few days after AgangSA's members showed dissatisfaction.

Speaking in Polokwane after her visit to the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) headquarters at Moria.

“What we wanted to forge with the DA was the partnership which will be complementary. It's got nothing to do with marriages, it's got everything to do with what we stand for, which is building a winning South Africa together,” said Ramphele.
