Their recent hit show, Igazi, has just ended, but worry not: husband and wife duo Connie and Shona Ferguson have another production ready for the slot

.

The power couple's latest television venture is an exciting and riveting telenovela called The Queen.

It's centered on wife and successful businesswoman Harriet Khoza (played by Connie Ferguson), who is forced to do something she never thought possible when her husbands secrets are reveled. Harriet soon finds herself battling the forces out to destroy her family.

Connie told Destiny Magazine; "We wanted a platform that allowed us to create an environment where we could think out of the box - and not necessarily follow the norm. TV is about growth and change. What was great 10 years ago is not really the same today."

Reneilwe Sema - the Head of Drama for Local Interests Channels, M-Net - believes women are capable of anything. "Woman are powerful beings: they can build empires and make homes, but with the same passion that they can build, they can also tear everything apart," he says of the shows inspiration.

He also believes The Queen will expose the flaws and weaknesses of the powerful and how far someone will go to protect their family.

The stellar line-up includes Sello Maake Kancube, Mara Louw, Sk Khoza, Natasha Thahane, Themba Ndaba and Slindile Nodangala.

The Queen airs in Mzansi Magic Mondays - Thursdays at 21:00
