Stars who can't shake off 'gay' label

Times have changed and sexual orientation is no big deal, however, across the globe male entertainers still have to ward of homosexual rumours that continue to follow them.  Whether this stems from how they carry themselves or how they dress, we are not totally sure how these rumours start.

We have rounded up some South African stars who cant seem to shake the ‘gay’ label.

Pallance Dladla

This actor’s sexuality  has been questioned from the time he was on Class Act. The gay rumors escalated when he potrayed a gay may alongside Abdul Khoza on the hit show Intersexions. Pallance has said; “After that episode many guys approached me thinking that I was gay. I didn’t know how to handle that, but I tried to make it clear that I wasn’t gay, without being rude.”

Donald Moatshe

The muso’s crooning ways have made him a hit with ladies but has also made some question his manliness. Donald’s repertoire involves some very flamboyant and colourful microphones that have led to some suspicious murmurs. Donald has not come out openly about his sexuality yet and has instead decided to focus on his music.

The father of two has been accused of being gay for as long as his career has been active. Social media has gone abuzz asking Theo to just ‘come out of the closet’ but the singer maintains that he is not gay. “I love God and I have no idea [why] people would think I am gay. I don’t even know where that’s coming from. It’s just ridiculous! I love my wife and hey, she’s a woman," Theo has said.

This kwaito star turned soccer player caused shockwaves in 2011 when his former friend and artist Brickz and Mavo a former protégé of Cleo came out saying he was gay. Brickz was quoted in the media saying Cleo used to caress and spank him and Mavo. Brickz went on to blame Cleo for a break up with his girlfriend. Cleo fired back saying Brickz was bitter and should focus on fixing his career.  told a Sunday tabloid the Es’khaleni star used to “spank and caress them”, and would slump into a “feminine sulk” if he saw his artists with their girlfriends.

This television personality has been said to be gay for years now. With some reports saying to get his job on Selimathunzi he slept with one of the male bosses. At Bujy Bingwa’s 25th birthday party Lunga answered the gay rumors by saying; “I am not homosexual or bisexual, I am heterosexual”.
