Tears and ugly truths

While mourners gathered to pay their last respects to kwaito star R Mashesha, three ex-lovers recall their troubled relationships

There was a hardly a dry eye in the packed-to-capacity King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban recently when musicians and fans alike paid their last respects to one of Durban-based kwaito group Big Nuz's members, Sibusiso "R Mashesha" Khomo.

The talented star's coffin was ushered in with the group's hit song Umlio, and it marked a bittersweet moment in the entertainment industry, particularly for kwaito fans.

At least his fans will find comfort in R Mashesha's verse from the group's ong, Hallelujah, which in on their latest album, For the Fans.

While tears were being shed, three ex-lovers of the kwaito singer were among the mourners too.

And they all describe the late singer as a 'ladies' man'.
