Is SABC1's primetime soap Generations: The Legacy slowly fading?

The revamped soapie has missed out on yet another major award nomination.

Generations: The Legacy was previously overlooked for this year's Royalty Soapie Awards, and now Mfundi Vundla’s recreation was conspicuously absent from the list at the 9th South African Film and Television Awards’ (Saftas) nominees announcement at Atlas Studios in Milpark, Joburg, last night.

Instead, Isibaya, Isidingo, Skeem Saam and 7de Laan are nominated in the Best Soapie Category.

In other awards news, the Best Feature Film Category saw film festival winners and nominees such as iNumber Number, Four Corners, Faan se Trein, Hard to Get, Leading Lady and Winnie Mandela get the nod.

Another must-watch category is the Best Presenter Award, with some of Mzansi’s favourite personalities getting recognition. The nominees include Thembi Seete, Bonang Matheba, Lungile Radu, Phat Joe and Jeremy Maggs.

The winners will be announced on Friday 20 March as well as Sunday 22 March at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
