Harari band member Sipho 'Hotstix' Mabuse has been released from custody with R2 000 bail after being charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to cause harm.

Mabuse and two others have been accused of these charges by two young men following an incident which involved a stolen car battery, Daily Sun reports.

The two accusers have said that Hotstix did not pay them enough for  paint that he had bought from them so they took his car battery.

When Hotstix heard about this, he went to fetch the boys but one ran away and the other was carried to his home in a car boot; the other was found at a later stage and was also taken to Hotstix's house.

The young men then claim that they were assaulted with a gun and sjambok respectively but Hotstix denies that this happened.

The legendary musician handed himself in after he heard that there was a warrant out for him.

Hotstix and his co-accused are expected to appear in court on August 28.

But the musician is planning not to sue the accused.
