Post Transvaal, Saturday Post, Sunday Post and the Sowetan are banned in 1980.

Post Transvaal, Saturday Post, Sunday Post and the Sowetan are banned on 23 December 1980.

This was also around the same time that the eight-week long strike of black journalists ended.

A storm of protest would later erupt, even from staunch pro-goverment Afrikaans press.
