Toffo is not so Lucky – again

It’s a real-life love triangle that resembles Mzansi’s most dramatic soapies – a serial cheating husband and the tension between his wife and the other woman.

We’re talking about the now-infamous affair between Afro-soul diva Simphiwe Dana and singer turned- pastor Lucky Shabangu, a former member of kwaito group The Twins and husband of singer Toffo.

Simphiwe (31), who has until now cultivated a squeaky-clean image, was forced make a public apology after the story came to light.

DRUM caught up with the troubled Lucky and his wife a few days after news of his latest infidelity broke. Lucky, who swears the affair is over, has nothing but kind words for Simphiwe. Toffo is not so generous though and calls Simphiwe “a hypocrite”.

“She’s someone I used to hold in high regard as an artist but after this cheap drama I have lost all my respect for her,” Toffo says.

“There are thousands of pretty girls in this world. If it was one of them I would understand, but someone like her, I don’t get it,” she says after cheeky Simphiwe lashed out at her critics on Twitter saying

“Kutyiwe mna. Ningenaphi nina apho” (It’s none of your business who I have sex with). It’s clear Toffo’s still very upset about the affair, especially after the way she found out about it.

She first got a whiff that something was amiss when her husband was contacted by a journalist about the story.

“At first I thought it was fabricated until Lucky sat me down."
