Make this kiddie favourite with ingredients that keep their bodies and brains in tip-top shape.

Most children love a milkshake. For an ideal light lunch, make it with berries – which are packed with antioxidants – and yoghurt instead of ice cream. Add a little chocolate but make sure it’s dark chocolate which contains antioxidants.

You’ll need:

  • 100 g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 banana, peeled (optional)
  • 250 ml (1 c) strawberries, chopped
  • 250 ml (1 c) blueberries
  • 250 ml (1 c) mulberries
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 125 ml (½ c) plain yoghurt
  • 60 ml (¼ c) milk
  • chopped nuts such as almonds for sprinkling (optional)
  • extra berries for garnishing (optional)

Do this:

Place all the ingredients (except the optional nuts and extra berries) in a food processor and process until smooth. Pour into glasses and top with the nuts and extra berries (if using).
