Beyoncé, Halle Berry and Eva Longoria swear by them and South Africa’s crème-de-la-crème Khanyi Mbau and Uyanda Mbuli could buy them overseas but as of this Friday, you too can own a pair of True Religion Jeans.

The brand’s very first store will open on Friday, May 16 in Sandton City.

South Africans can buy their favourite pair of jeans, accessories and fragrances from the store and get the full True Religion experience.

The “premium denim” brand which prides itself for its handmade, American product was started in 2005 on Manhattan Beach in California.

Today they have over 900 branded boutiques in 50 countries.

South African high-end fashion retailers, the Surtee Group, managed to clinch the international deal. They are also known for being host to exclusive brand Hugo Boss.

The retail group focuses on “world-class luxury fashion brands and connects it to ordinary South Africans”. They do this to ensure South Africans enjoy an affluent and inspirational lifestyle.  The introduction of True Religion jeans will cement their position as one of the country’s leaders in luxury trade.

Fashionistas are encouraged to pop into the store this Friday and treat themselves to the well-loved denim brand. Sandton City’s trading hours are 9am to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 8pm on Friday.

The official launch of the store is set for early June this year.
