They have left international crowds astounded, continent after continent.

Even London’s Daily Telegraph said that “they dance like demons, sing like angels, and drum like magicians possessed.”

And now the 30-piece cast of UMOJA, South Africa’s world-acclaimed musical, will dazzle local audiences at Houghton Estates’ The Victory Theatre.

Celebrating 12 years of existence this year, UMOJA was created by veteran choreographers Todd Twala and Thembi Nyandeni, who wanted to unite and empower underprivileged children.

The cast is made up of a myriad of cultures, each having their own touching story to tell.

The musical is famous for its fusion of tribal music, township dance styles and stories set at height of apartheid injustices, especially the forced removals of blacks in the 1950s following the passing of the Group Areas Act into law.

Performance dates are available on Computicket or alternatively on 011 728 9603
