Unisa strike has come to an end after management reached an agreement with Nehawu

Unisa strike has come to an end after management reached an agreement with the National Health Education and Allied Workers Union.

All Unisa staff is expected to return to work today after a settlement was reached on Monday night between the university and organised labour.

According to Martin Ramotshela, spokesperson at Unisa, the details of the offer will be made public during the signing of the agreement at the Unisa Muckleneuk Campus in Pretoria today.

The strike had caused a delay in the registration process for students and put a hold on the start of the 2017 academic programme.

Students will be relieved to know that the deadline for registration has been extended to Sunday 4 February 2017.
