Rapper AKA has stated that he’s ready to stand on his own two legs and take charge of his own career by cutting ties with his management company Vth Season.

The rapper originally first broke the news about his split from the management company in October. In a harsh rant, he took aim at the company's manager Benza, and claimed that the "Vth season AKA is dead".

In a recent interview with Slikour, AKA explained that he’s ready to move away from Vth Season and start his own management company. That way, he can cut out "the middle man".

"Vth Season would try and do what is best in their perspective . . . In their mind, they would formulate their own plan, saying, ‘this is how we are going to attack it and this is where we are going to go'. With me now, it’s directly me and there’s no go-between. In instances where they maybe pushed too hard or didn't push hard enough . . . There’s no room for misinterpretation now because it comes through me," AKA said.

He told Slikour that the fallout with his former manager was “not pretty” but added that their relationship has improved since.

“I’ve always been one to voice my frustration . . . it may not have been the right way to do it but it was done and I can still see (Vth Season manager) Benza and we can handle business,” AKA said.
