"We want more" cinnamon and ginger squares

250g butter

160 ml (? c) caster sugar

250 ml ( 1 c) self-raising flour

250 ml (1 c) flour

7 ml ( 1 ½ t) ginger

5 ml ( 1 t) cinnamon

Topping

80 ml ( ? c) golden syrup

500 ml (2 c) icing sugar

100g butter

Preheat oven to 180°C.

  1. In a bowl rub butter, sugar, flours and spices together until breadcrumb consistency.
  2. Press the mixture into pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  3. Topping: In a pot heat  syrup, icing sugar and butter, stirring until bubbly. Pour over base and set in the fridge for 2 hours. Then cut into bars.
