Where the heart is

Gospel power couple Thokozani and Bonolo Nkosi talk about family, work and how they’re truly blessed

There's a postcard quality to the double-storey home on a golf estate in Honeydew, Joburg – it’s so tasteful it could easily feature on the cover of a glamorous lifestyle magazine. Tuscanstyle, it’s also shot through with oriental influences that make it interesting in an understated way.

When they first spotted it, Thokozani (40) and Bonolo Nkosi (33) knew they’d hit pay dirt. “We made friends with an agent who kept us in the loop about properties

in the estate and this particular one was just about to go on the market when we bought it,” Bonolo tells us.

Thokozani looks trim in a pair of shorts and he’s swapped his trademark dreadlocks for an almost shaven look. Through a lot of hard work, he’s managed to beat the bulge.

“I’ve always had weight issues,” he says as we follow him into the house.

“I exercise almost every day. I run around the estate and I’ve had a complete lifestyle change. It’s difficult but it works.”
