Williams makes international debut

SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams will make his international debut for South Africa against Brazil when the two meet in an international friendly in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Williams was named in coach Gordon Igesund's starting lineup and has earned his first cap at the age of 22, replacing the injured Itumeleng Khune.

Igesund named Thabo Nthethe as captain for the game in Khune's absence, while Bongani Khumalo partners the skipper in the centre of defence.

Igesund named seven foreign-based players in his starting XI, with Williams, Nthethe, Bernard Parker and Thabo Matlaba the only local representatives.

Dean Furman returns to face the team against which he made his international debut, while Thulani Serero was also included from the start.
