Winnie Ntshaba bags a role on MTV Shuga: Down South

Winnie Ntshaba joins the cast of MTV series Shuga: Down South as it returns to the small screen for season 5.

The former Generations actress Winnie Ntshaba plays the role of Nelisiwe, a religious mother to 15-year-old Khensani.

“I'm happy to be involved in a show that features actors from other parts of the African continent and a role that is educational,” Winnie says.

Shuga: Down South is set in clubs and hangout spots of Braamfontein, and the fictional township of Zenzele.

This social drama addresses HIV &AIDS issues amongst young people and African families.

Viewers can expect a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Mzansi’s Clint Brink, who plays the role of ruthless club owner Rakeem, Thuso Mbedu and Tanzania star Vanessa Mdee, to name a few.

MTV Shuga will premiere across Africa on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on 8 March.
