Rapper has been arrested on threat charges.

Authorities say rapper Young Thug has been jailed outside Atlanta on a charge of making terrorist threats, Channel24 said in a report on Thursday.

US marshals arrested the 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, on Wednesday morning on a warrant by Dunwoody police.

Jim Joyner of the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force says Williams was apprehended without incident at a home in Sandy Springs and was taken to the DeKalb County jail.

A warrant says Williams, known for his 2013 single Stoner, was arrested after threatening to shoot a security guard at Perimeter Mall in the face after he was told to leave the building.

It was not immediately known if Williams had an attorney. Online jail records had no information on Williams' arrest.

Channel24 reports that MTV spokesperson Alison Reid told them that the rapper will still be part of the MTV Africa Music Awards which is set to take place in Durban this Saturday, 18 July. "We have received no news to indicate that Young Thug will not be part of MAMA 2015 and we look forward to welcoming him to Durban," Reid said.
