She’s a Generations star who’s aiming for the top – Zenande Mfenyana spoke to DRUM about her inspiration and plans for the future

Zenande Mfenyana (27), who plays Noluntu on Generations, greets us at 5 am with a beaming smile, seemingly unfazed by the early hour. A consummate professional, she immediately sits to have her make-up done without being asked. Her relaxed, warm personality shines through as we talk.

She’s spent the past two years on Generations and has grown along with her character. As Noluntu’s role has evolved,  Zenande has gained confidence.

Initially just an intern at her mother’s company, Noluntu is now editor-in-chief of Yonayethu magazine. Zenande is proud of Noluntu’s progress.

“I must say I love where my character’s going, although I feel that as an actress I still have a lot to learn,” she says. Always keen to be the best she can be, Zenande attends acting classes regularly to fine-tune her acting skills.
