President Jacob Zuma questioned why pictures of a man being knifed to death in a suspected xenophobic attack were published

President Jacob Zuma yesterday at the Luthuli house questioned why pictures of a man being knifed to death in a suspected xenophobic attack were published, reports Sowetan.

During the weekend the Sunday Times published photographs of a group of men attacking Emmanuel Sithole with knives and a monkey wrench.

Sithole, a Mozambican national, later died of his injuries in hospital.

The president told Sowetan that the media must be wary of how it portrays the country to the world.

He added by saying that the air time 'clever people' use on radio to criticise the government, must be used to educate.

"We are not saying do not be frank, but everything has limits", the President told Sowetan.
