The reality of South African politics
Its only 1 day to the National voting day, I still do not know which party is worth my X. I have been reading newspapers and listening to manifestos but no one seems convincing. “Choosing which political party to vote for is like choosing which STD you prefer” (City Press, 4 May 2014, pg 12), a true statement given the failures of the current ruling party the ANC, The birth of EFF (Some call it a party founded from rage and revenge and the DA making optimistic promises, ignoring their failures to provide adequate basic services for the poor in the Western Cape.
Listening to the Debate held on Friday the 2nd of May Held in the Western Cape, I learned the Debate was attended by mostly if not only the victims of the ‘DA Western Cape leadership’ which are mostly if not only Black and coloured people. Showing that Most of the White residents of the Province are living under proper and comfortable conditions, hence have no reason to want to meet and find solutions to problems that affect the livelihood of the people of the Western Cape. During the debate the DA and all the other parties representatives failed to answer how they are actually going to make the changes they promise, The DA failing to answer on many occasions how Six million Jobs are going to be created.
The ANC has misused Tax payer’s money for a very long time, millions of Rands go unaccounted for every year , under Ideal conditions South Africa was supposed to be 10 times better than what it currently is. The EFF is a Nuclear weapon waiting to explode and its effects radiating for generations to come. If Julius Malema had any positive potential towards developing South Africa, we would have seen this during his term as the ANC youth league President. He was also starting his own “Inkandla” at Sandton just before he was apprehended; He has already failed the country and mostly the youth of South Africa. Looking at the last 20 years of Freedom the ruling party has made a difference and no one can deny this.
Thousands of historically disadvantaged South Africans have been empowered through free basic Education and funding for tertiary education, black owned business empowerment and the right to vote for a party of their choice. The National party “apartheid architects” tore South Africa apart and to this day we are still living under the echo of past, Racism is still in the atmosphere of our country, many black South Africans are still struggling with poverty and illiteracy. It was a “White” party and it failed, hence a lot of people are reluctant to Vote DA. Not that I see things the same way, these are my gatherings. The ANC has the potential South Africa needs to go forward we’ve all see this in the last 20 years, the ANC is like an engine that needs cleaning not that it cannot run.
The Solution for the country is to clean the party. What we NEED to vote for, is new leaders not a new party then we will see change. There are a lot of educated South Africans that can take office from qualified politicians, Economist, Lawyers and everything in between.

Smaller parties, notably, took a beating. AGANG never made it to the start and COPE became a footnote. The IFP's support was halved, a prime reason being the NFP (IFP rebels), entering the KZN political arena.
