Johannesburg - The IEC on Thursday said 55% of results slips had been calculated in the eThekwini metro, after technical glitches earlier.
Deputy chief electoral officer Mosotho Simon Moepya said they started slowly this morning, and needed to conduct the verification process with presiding officers.

There had been a technical problem with the scanning equipment.
By 11:00, figures for the eThekwini Metro were still not publicly available.
He said the technicalities have since been sorted out and the calculations in the metro were well under way.
