Election News wrap-up: 16 April

Cape Town - The ANC has condemned Ronnie Kasrils's 'vote no' campaign saying it is disruptive, reckless and counter-revolutionary.

Kasrils and his group calling for this action said they aren't saying don't vote, just that "people shouldn't vote ANC".

The DA's effort to get its banned ad aired continued on Wednesday, though the hearing was adjourned. The hearing will resume tonight at 18:00.

The IEC announced they approved about 75 000 applications for special votes so far. They're calling on all South Africans to submit their applications before Thursday (17/04). 

Campaigning has gained momentum. Mmusi Maimane today said President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla home were paid for with money meant for housing and basic services in Soweto.

Helen Zille handed out solar kits today in Hammanskraal.
