Only we can remove Zuma, and he's not going anywhere - ANC elections head

2016-05-13 22:21

Pretoria – ANC head of elections Nomvula Mokonyane told supporters in Winterveldt on Friday that only the party can remove President Jacob Zuma from office – and he is not going anywhere.

“He was put in office by us and he will be removed by us,” she told supporters at a community hall.

“Those who don’t like it can take a back seat while we move forward.”

Party supporters cheered and applauded, chanting Zuma’s name. He was in the area with ANC leadership as part of the party’s local election campaign trail.

He started by visiting a clinic before going to address excited supporters. While introducing Zuma, Mokonyane led the Zuma chants with others singing “Live for us Zuma”.

“We are saying he must continue to lead,” she said.
