Actress hurt in car crash

Malibu - Former Charmed actress Shannen Doherty was bruised and cut on her thigh in a highway crash that sent another motorist to the hospital, authorities and Doherty's publicist said.
Doherty was behind the wheel of a Range Rover making a left turn onto Pacific Coast Highway on Monday morning when there was a collision with a Ford Mustang, lietuenant Steve Wilson of the Los Angeles county sheriff's department said on Tuesday.
James Warren Paul, the driver of the Mustang, was taken by ambulance to Santa Monica Hospital, the lieutenant said. The extent of Paul's injuries weren't known, Wilson said, and the hospital said no one by that name was admitted.
Doherty, 34, complained of pain after the crash but she refused to go in an ambulance, her New York publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik said.
"She went in a private car to Cedars-Sinai (Medical Centre). She refused to go in an ambulance. She was examined in the emergency room for thigh bruises and cuts," Zelnik said. Doherty was resting comfortably at home on Tuesday.
"She's in pain a little bit," Zelnik said. "Her left side is a little messed up, to use her words."
Wilson said investigators listed Doherty as "the party most at fault", but Zelnik noted there were no citations.
Doherty was arrested for drunken driving in 2001 and ordered to serve five days on a work-release programme after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge.
Doherty starred in television's Beverly Hills 90210 and the first three seasons of Charmed. Her films include Heathers and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
