Los Angeles - Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt reportedly rejected an attempt from Jennifer Aniston to save their marriage.
According to Closer magazine she feared she had driven Brad away by constantly refusing his requests for them to start a family so she planned a birthday surprise for him.
Jennifer gave him a gift-wrapped pregnancy test kit with a note which read: "I'm now ready for a baby."
According to the magazine Jennifer told friends it was the ideal present for her husband and she planned to give it to him on December 18 - his 41st birthday - while they were in London.
Jennifer, 35, was in London filming Derailed and her husband was due to promote his new movie with George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ocean's Twelve.
A friend said: "The crunch came in London. She wanted to convince people everything was all right.
