Los Angeles - Golden Globe winner Sandra Bullock has donated $1m to help the victims of the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, according to Variety on Monday.
The report came as preparations moved into high gear for the telethon Hope for Haiti, which is being organised by George Clooney and will feature major Hollywood stars in a televised fundraiser to screen on major US television channels on Friday.
The event will be co-hosted by Clooney, Haitian singer Wyclef Jean and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. It will feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Bono, Alicia Keys, Sting and Justin Timberlake among others.
Variety said that the donation by Bullock matches previous large donations made by Clooney, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has reportedly pledged $1.5m.
