Chrizette 'not unique'

Bloemfontein - Bad news for Hestrie and Jurie...
The "original" name for their unborn baby is not that original after all.
"Chrizette" will have a number of namesakes in the Free State.
"I am looking forward to the song Jurie Els intends to dedicate to his Chrizette," says Chrizette de Jongh of Bethlehem.
Jurie and Hestrie announced this week that their unborn baby girl would be named Chrizette.
But since the report in which Hestrie speculated if her daughter is going to be the only one in South Africa with this name, De Jongh's phone has been ringing non-stop.
"I even had a call from a friend in Cape Town to tell me about the story and at the netball this afternoon everybody mentioned it."
She says her name comes from Christine, a family name.
"My mother came up with my name 40 years ago!
"I've been thinking - maybe I should ask Jurie and Hestrie if I can bring their baby into church at the christening.
De Jongh still thinks it's a unique name. "I have never met anybody else named Chrizette."
In Bloemfontein a Chrisette Herbst, a three year-old blonde girl, has also surfaced.
Her mother, Marisa Herbst, says she combined two family names.
"I used the names of her two grannies, Christine and Hettie - the Chris comes from Christine and the -ette from Hettie.
"I think it is a beautiful and original name.
"I do hope the Els baby will give Jurie and Hestrie as much pleasure as we enjoy with our little Chrisette."
